The Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation (NSHRF) exists to improve the health of Nova Scotians through health research. NSHRF is the second largest funder of the health research conducted in the province of Nova Scotia and supports biomedical, health policy, health service and health outcome research activity.

NSHRF programs include the Knowledge Program (to support stakeholders across the health system in integrating evidence into their decision-making processes), Research Enterprise Development Initiatives (to support the health research enterprise in Nova Scotia and to ensure a systems level approach to research enterprise development) and the Research Program (to build capacity in health research across the four health research categories (biomedical, health policy, health services and health outcomes).
