Adaptiiv’s Innovative 3D Printing Software Solution Wins $100K in Atlantic Canada’s First-Ever
Health Challenge Pitch Focusing on Cancer Care
Adaptiiv Medical Technologies Inc. (Adaptiiv) is proud to announce it has been named the first-ever
recipient of Atlantic Canada’s Health Challenge focusing on cancer care.
The company was recently awarded the prestigious prize as determined by a panel of judges comprised
of experts in the sectors of healthcare, technology, and government.
This undertaking will see full deployment of Adaptiiv’s innovative technology into the Nova Scotia Health
Authority’s (NSHA) clinical workflow with the goal of improving traditional processes and maximizing
efficiencies.

the accuracy and level of care that is required of our medical practitioners in order to make concise, lifesaving treatments for patients in Atlantic Canada.”
Adaptiiv’s primary focus is to improve treatment accuracy and patient care by combining its software
platform and 3D printing to design and create patient-specific radiotherapy (RT) accessories.
Past collaboration with the NSHA has allowed Adaptiiv to conduct research and development into refining
its software platform. Now, the two organizations will work toward developing a deep understanding of
the entire end-to-end clinical workflow to further incorporate innovative treatment techniques into
NSHA’s existing processes, enhance the traditional RT workflow, and develop a playbook to integrate
Adaptiiv’s technology on a broader scale across the entire industry.
“Adaptiiv provides the health authority with the ability to design and create patient-specific accessories
quickly and accurately to improve both treatment delivery and the patient experience. Our solution
integrates directly with the clinically-commissioned treatment planning system (TPS), allowing clinicians
at the NSHA to perform dose and plan verification in the TPS prior to treatment which reduces any risk of
not delivering the precise plan that was designed for the patient,” says Adaptiiv CEO, Peter Hickey.

Foundation, and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, have formed a strategic partnership to
present the Health Challenge, a series of five pitch events focusing on specific health care priorities.
MedTech companies participating in the competition present their technologies that aim to solve various
priorities pre-determined by the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
